Vacation Condos For Rent on Kauai - Owner Direct

Kauai is Hawaii’s oldest island. Because of the age and the rainfalls, Kauai is lush and green all year long. In fact, it’s nicknamed the Garden Isle. The island is characterized by a scenic coastline and breathtaking valleys and canyons in the mountainous interior. It is untouched by major development and free from pollution. You can lose yourself in this rural paradise surrounded by the cobalt blue pacific ocean, lush green forests and flora, and cascading waterfalls.

Discover the majestic Na Pali Coast, accessible only by boat, by helicopter, or on foot on the Kalalau Trail. Na Pali literally means The Cliff. It took millions of years to form the grandeur of deep and narrow peaks and valleys. The beauty and the drama of the seascape is beyond imagination.

Wailua Falls

Waimea Canyon was described by Mark Twain as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”. It is ten miles long and 3,600 feet deep of red, orange, and gray stone layers. The Majestic Waimea River meanders through this lush valley. You can start your way at the Koke’e State Park or take a helicopter tour.

There are so many waterfalls on the island to explore. Wailua Falls (as seen on TV on Fantasy Island) and ‘Opaeka’a Falls are particularly famous. We also love rope swinging at Kipu Falls, which also has a big natural pool. In winter, fueled by the rain on the north shore, the waterfalls are spectacular. The south shore, where Kiahuna Plantation is located at, remains dry and sunny.

Because Kauai is older than the other Hawaiian islands, there are more sandy beaches per mile of coastline on Kauai than on any other island. There are so many beautiful beaches and each of them are different. You can choose from Anini to Wailua. We recommend Kiahuna Beach in front of the Kiahuna Plantation, which is called “a real gem” by The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. Po’ipu Beach Park is another good choice. It was rated by Dr. Leatherman (a.k.a. Dr. Beach) as the #1 beach in 2001 (therefore excluded from the survey thereafter). Occasionally you will see the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals there sunbathing or napping
